January 2022: After a very warm beginning, temperature dropped by almost 20°C and winter came back even in the lowlands. On slopes exposed south the snow started to melt away after some sunny days without fog. But on slopes exposed to other directions the sun was too weak. During some clear and very cold nights beautiful snow crystals grew on the surface. Here they reached several centimeters as the sun arrived in the afternoon only and disappeared soon again. Thus a very fragile artwork of thin snow crystals was formed on this slope.
