Compare to the picture of April 3rd I took from the same spot: That impressive tree was cut down this morning.
I understand that such old trees aren't economically interesting but for
nature they are almost a habitat themselves. I always saw many different
birds in this tree and we know that trees have a lot of other functions in
an ecosystem. I was very disappointed to see the digger where used to be
the wonderful old big tree. On that day the water in the nearby drainage system sounded to me like endless tears... (Use the player above.)
