This graphic shows the Earth's postition on its orbit around the sun on April 1st with colors that indicate the southern hemisphere's seasons. After the autumn equinox they are undoubtably in autumn - but once again: this doesn't guarantee the seasonality of the weather. - The sun's declination will increase from about 4 to 14°, in May only from 14 to 21°. We gain 3min of daylight every April day, in Oslo they gain about 5min, in Fairbanks almost 7min and in Barrow even more; in Buenos Aires they loose about 2min per day. As the nights get longer and longer there will be more and more time for cooling. Therefore we must expect an ongoing decrease in temperature.
