World Wide Snow and Ice Cover Map: July 16th, 2014: The Antarctic sea ice is growing, whereas in the Arctic the decrease will soon open the north-east and also the north-west passage for ships. There is some fresh snow in south America and also in New Zealand. On the northern hemisphere there are some snow covered areas in Greenland, northern Canada and Siberia and in mountain regions as Rocky Mountains, Himalaya, Norway, Iceland and Alps.
