Last evening the weather shifted and clouds started moving in quickly from
the West (where much of our weather comes from). It has been cool and gusty
all day today so I think that is why the images appear a little misty: from
the leaves blowing about in the wind. The temperature at the time I took
the photo (mid-day) was 52 F (11 C) and the sky has been overcast all day.
No precipitation, except for an occasional fine mist. Not enough to collect
in the rain gauge.
The garden has been producing at an alarming rate! It takes a lot of my
time and energy to keep up with it but I do enjoy the fresh vegetables, as
well as the flowers, so I am not complaining! Today I picked 2 gallons of
raspberries and a pound (about .5 kilogram) of green beans. Earlier in the
week I took some garden produce to our local Food Bank, where extra food is
distributed to the needy. I always try to grow a little more than we need
so I can give it away to those who aren't as fortunate.
Our days are getting shorter and I find I have to use my reflective safety
vest when I take my morning run because it is getting so dark. The sun rose
this morning at 4:59 am and set at 10:58 pm for a total of 17 hours 59
minutes of daylight.
