What a wet two weeks we just had! The month of June started out very dry and we were so concerned about the possible threat of wildfires. But then early on 18 June it started to rain and since then we have had 3 major storms bring so much rain that last month now holds the record for the wettest June since data started being recorded 100 years ago. I recorded a total of 108.7 mm of rain during June in my garden rain gauge. (And then, late on 30 June we saw the beginning of our 3rd storm, which lasted through 2 July and brought another 83.2 mm!) This may not sound like much rain to those who do not live in interior Alaska, but this is a lot of rain for us!
