We had a warmer than normal October but during the last 2 days of the month the temperature started to drop. It finally dropped below 0 F 1 hour before midnight on 31 Oct (there was a big article about that in the newspaper). Now, it is more seasonable, with temperatures around - 20 C at night and about -10 C during the day. When I took these photos, it was - 9 C. We have 88.5 mm of snow on the ground. It is a lovely, dry, crystallized snow that covers everything since we have had no wind for a long time. Our day length continues to decrease at about 7 minutes per day. Today the sun rose at 9:44 am and will set at 5:27 pm for a total day length of 7 hours and 17 minutes.
