Here is my February image. The river is still frozen. There was no snow on the river because there was some rain at the end of January. Temperatures were 2-3 C so it was quite cold. The river went up but the ice stayed in tact. We are having another large snow storm today. We had record snow in January of over 100 cm.
January was the coldest since 1977. My understanding is that early snow cover in Siberia and also warmer water than average in the northern Pacific Ocean led to the jet stream dipping down into the US like it did in the 1970s.

For a meteorologist, it has been an amazing winter. My ice rink in the back yard has been great. I ice skate nearly every day.
