In this part of the country the weather in October was strange. The first half was sunny and the last part cloudy. Average temp was 8,3 with max 16,1 on Oct 1st and min 2,7 on the 14th. The rainfall during the month was 33,2 mm and that is less than average. The highest gust of wind was measured to 20,6 m/s.
Last Saturday we got our first snow and now the ground is white. But the first snow was like slush and after a night with temperature below zero the ground is very icy for the moment. Looking out of the window I can see that it is still snowing.
For the moment the weather is strange in this north region. Yesterday the lowest temp in Norway was minus 31,3 and in Svalbard they had 4 degrees with heavy rain. The authorities had to evacuate more than 100 people from their houses in case of avalanches. They had one last winter where two people died.
