November and December were really warm in 2011. The temperature stayed
between 0 and +10 degrees, only at the end of Dec it was -5-7. There was no
snow and the grass was green so sometimes I had a feeling like spring was
coming. Only bird song and sunshine was missing. White Christmas is kind
of a dream in Estonia. We can't imagine real Christmas without snow and
there are lots of weather forecasters who watching the signs of nature try
to forecast the snow. But it didn't want to come. We had lots of rain so
the Witch's Well (a special well somewhere in central Estonia, which
starts overflowing when there is lots of water in the ground) started
"boiling" like in spring when the snow melts. When Christmas was over then
lots of people were sure that we are not going to have cold winter this
year.
