We are melting out from the first winter storm of the season. We had 23 cm of snow on the 7th and 8th. (That is a lot for our area of North Carolina) As typical, I spent time photographing the snow crystals under a microscope. In this storm I observed at least 38 of the 121 different types of snow crystals! If you would like I could share some of my snow images... (I did post a few on the PEI facebook page)
Here are two images for SIMB. As you can see there is one big difference between the two images. On such a clear day, I was unhappy that my solar panels were covered so I climbed up the roof to clean the snow... so we are back to generating electricity and hot water!
