As you can see, everything is quite green. We still well above normal with regards to precipitation. In fact we are almost up to the yearly average and there is still 4 months left in the year!
As I look at the images I am surprised how little change I see. Normally by this time of the summer, I would see more evidence of brown or heat stress but not this year. One change that may be noticable is the death of a large red oak tree (directly above the peak of the roof.) This will be a challenge to cut down as the tree is over 60 cm at chest level.
As I write, the south-eastern coast of the US is under threat of a very large and dangerous hurricane. It remains to be seen what if anything will happen here. At this point we expect that most of the impact will be closer to the coast. There still is plenty of time for hurricane season to create more storms.
