This photo is taken on the 13th day of Christmas (6 january) and it is a custom to shoot fireworks and burn out the holidays with that opportunity. We had snow right during the holidays and now it is almost gone. It was three degrees plus Celsius at 9 pm when we took the photo. It has been quite capricious weather in December and so far in January. Hot and cold alternately but not real winter. Rauðavatn lake is covered with ice, which has started thawing, and lights and fireworks are reflected in it. We have had many windy days and much precipitation during the last weeks so we want to have some snow in the dark days we have now. The sun comes up at around 11 am and goes down between 3 and 4 pm and days are beginning to lengthen again.
