It is a chilly day here-
only 13 degrees, which is well under the average temperature for this time
of year. We are enjoying a cool spring though, as we know the hot humid
weather that envelopes us all summer is just around the corner. In my
front garden, my daffodils are just starting to show signs of the green
parts dying off. I like to let the green shoots die before removing them
so they can give food to the bulb under the ground. The Cyprus shrubs are
putting out some new shoots. The lilac has finished blooming- I never get
many blooms off of it for some reason. My Black-eyed Susans are starting
to push up above the ground, as are the daisies- both perennials. The
butterfly bush is greening up. On the other side of my garden, my irises
are just starting to open up.
