This June, we have had inconsistent weather. For the most part, our
temperatures were above average and we had a few days during which our
average temperatures were lower than average.
Our monthly precipitation for June was well below normal, and ranked as
the driest June since 1991. Fortunately we have family drought tolerant
perennials in the front garden, and we do water the hanging flower
containers daily.
The rose bush we planed in late May still has the blooms it arrived with,
and is looking good. The Black-eyed Susans are greening up but no buds
yet. The Shasta daisies are bursting into their beauty and have a great
many buds. The Butterfly bush hasn't yet budded out, and the lilacs are
long gone.
