We have had a very wet spring, followed by a really warm summer. Even though we just finished up with a good 10-day stretch of very hot weather with some afternoon thunder storms. Our lovely Shasta Daisies have been in bloom for a month- they are drought resistant and enjoy the hot humid weather. The Gold Mop cypress bushes also are doing very well- full of new growth and growing tall. My rose bush also is thriving and has plots of red blooms. In the far-left hand side of the picture, you will also see that the Black-Eyed Susans are just starting to bloom. The butterfly bush hasn't been doing too well this year. I think it is because my husband over pruned it- but perhaps it didn't like the wet spring.
