Here are my photos from October 13, 2018. Matanuska River, facing west and facing east. Usually the mountains are visible in the east-facing angle, but on this day we had low cloud cover.
This river hosts Alaskan salmon eggs during the winter, and in the late summer and fall, adult salmon swim upstream to spawn, and remain with their eggs until they die.
